Chisago Lake

Bordering the southeast side of Chisago City, Chisago Lake has dozens of coves and inlets to explore, making it a great place to find your next catch! It is also connected to South Lindström Lake by a natural channel, providing even more places to anchor.

Directions:

From Highway 8 (Lake Boulevard), travel one mile East of Chisago City to Shoquist Lane, and cross over Stinson Ave. to access the entrance.

At one time, Chisago Lakes was one large lake known by the local First Nation People (Ojibwae) as “Kichisaga” meaning “fair and lovely waters” The Swedish settlers, who arrived in the 1850’s, called the body of water “Big Lake”. Over time, the name changed to Swede Lake then to Chisago Lake.
