Continuing our Saturday entertainment feature with live music from The Return of Thor
Mark Thoreen is a Rochester, MN -based singer/songwriter who performs a mix of originals and covers with keyboard, bass and synthesizers. Thoreen also happens to be graduate of Chisago Lakes High School and was a student of the one and only, Mike Savold.
Thoreen’s sound could best be described as lounge singer meets 70’s rocker with a flare for transient moments of surrealism and tranquil ambience. “A living velvet painting” is the best way he can describe the sounds he seeks. Influences range from classical to classic rock & country, New Orleans, funk, electronic and Yacht rock. Mark also plays in Rochester bands Jeremy Jewell & The Codependents and Hair Of The Dog.
