Nestled among breathtaking scenery and rural charm, lies the community of Chisago Lakes. Located just 35 miles north of Minneapolis and St. Paul along the Highway 8 corridor, beauty and history connect the cities of Chisago City, Lindstrom, Center City, Shafer and Taylors Falls. Settled mainly by Swedish immigrants in the mid-1800’s, Chisago Lakes is honored as the setting for Vilhelm Moberg’s novel series “The Emigrants.” Enjoy the historic statues and main streets throughout the community, connecting you to the early pioneers.
